To Win In The Marketplace, You Must First Win In The Workplace

Many leaders today are pouring too much attention on how they could win in the marketplace. They are too fixated on the concept of outranking the competition, pursuing their purpose at the cost of their people- which is one massive mistake! As a result, they are contradicting the fundamental leadership principle: ‘it is only through our employees that we will win in the marketplace.’

Always remember that great leaders have the perspective of purpose plus people, not people at the cost of purpose. Truth is, if the employees are emotionally engaged, they are bound to contribute more towards the business.

Look at it this way:

Engaged Employees leads to higher service, quality, and productivity, which leads to… higher customer satisfaction, which leads to increased sales (repeat business and referrals), which leads to… higher levels of profit, which leads to higher shareholder returns.
